Got to spend more time than usual on this one.  Was toying with joining the artstation challenge beyond human in the environment category but was too late to to get the required 2 submissions ready in time.

I was watching on of Bjorn Hurris 30 minute warm ups on Twitch and he showed a trick he uses to draw tubing easily using the stroke effects layer.  I was playing around with it and then started overlaying the effect and thought it looks a lot like etching.  I made this little guy using it.


The image below is a study from a photo just to get some practice a subtler transitions in colour /value to indicate form.

I started out with the grey scale sketch and then photo bashed through the middle of this then over painted.  I think I needed the textures to move it along but I liked the mood in the sketch.  [Edited: first post I had forgot the all important exhaust].
